As a Chiropractor,  Dr Malone's use of acupuncture needles is highly specialized to address musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders in all their various forms (Think ... joint, nerve, and soft tissue pain). However, many disease processes involve or produce symptoms in our MSK systems which can be effectively managed with acupuncture. Acupuncture may be a primary treatment in cases where other treatments have failed and/or other treatments are contraindicated but it is best when combined with other manual therapies such as chiropractic and soft-tissue work.

Traditional Acupuncture

Acupuncture can be an effective treatment for many musculoskeletal conditions on its own. It is particularly effective for chronic pain, headaches, shoulder, knee and upper back/neck pain but these are just a few examples of the many conditions that respond well to acupuncture. Traditional acupuncture involves needling points along the 12 meridians to balance the flow of Chi.

Modern Acupuncture

Modern acupuncture is what happens when practitioners take a 3000 year old practice and bring it into the 21st century. Only the best points and no abstract meridians. It also brings electro-acupuncture into the mix. Its acupuncture but better and more refined.

Dry Needling

Dry needling involves the mechanical maceration of diseased myofascial tissues to elicit an biochemical response. This is a focused treatment with a lot of good research behind it.
